In the City of Waycross, Georgia, the powers who make the rules and laws have gone as far as mandating that when a property is sold that has a garage apartment that the garage apartment cannot be lived in….It can only be used for storage. ‘Grandfathering’ to Waycross means for the current owner. When the property is past on through inheritance, that is a new owner so grandfathering dies with the person who dies. That is wrong to me.
I could go on about zoning rules that have been a part of the housing shortage problems across the nation, but I will stop here about this topic in this post.
